1970-2004 Energy Expenditures as a Percentage of Gross Product
Source: Bureau of Economic Analysis and Energy Information Administration
This figure displays energy expenditures as a percentage of gross product for both the U.S. and Arkansas. Again, the values for Arkansas and the U.S. track very closely together. As a result of the relatively small Arkansas gross state product and slightly higher than average energy expenditures per capita, the ratio of energy expenditures to gross product has been historically higher for the state than the nation as a whole.
