1970-2004 Arkansas Coal Consumption by Sector

The figure illustrates that a majority of the coal consumed in the state is used by the electric power sector to generate and transmit electricity. In the last 20 years (from 1984 to 2004) Arkansas coal consumption by the electric utility sector has increased 70 percent.
