This figure shows Arkansas natural gas consumption by sector. Consumption by the industrial sector has historically been the greatest. Residential, commercial, and transportation sector consumption has remained very stable since the early 1970s, while consumption by the electric power sector has fluctuated greatly over this same period. Consumption by the industrial sector has historically been the greatest, however since 1997, industrial consumption of natural gas has decreased 27 percent.
