In this figure Arkansas's highway use of gasoline per vehicle from 1970 to 2005 is illustrated. The drastic reduction in the 70s corresponds with the energy crises during that time period. The last decade has seen a consistent decline in gasoline use per vehicle, a decline of 15 percent.
