1960-2004 Arkansas CO2 Emissions by Economic Sector
Note: CO2 Emission values were calculated by comparing Arkansas Consumption to U.S. Consumption for each fuel type Source: Energy Information Administration
This figure describes carbon dioxide emissions for each economic sector at the national level. In Arkansas the three largest contributing sectors are electric power, transportation and to a lesser extent industrial. The generation of electric power has contributed phenomenally to CO2 emission since the early 80s. It is interesting to note that natural gas (a cleaner fuel) prices rose while coal prices fell during the same time period.
