1970-2004 Arkansas Energy Consumption by Fuel Type
Source: Energy Information Administration
In this figure, Arkansas's energy consumption by fuel type since 1970 is depicted. Since the 1980s the three fuels that have contributed the most to Arkansas energy consumption have been coal, natural gas, and petroleum. For the last three decades Arkansans have consumed almost eight times as much energy in the form of fossil fuels as they do from renewable sources.
