1980-2004 Energy Consumption per Dollar Product
Note: Gross State Product is in Chained 2000 Dollars
Source: Energy Information Administration and Bureau of Economic Analysis
This figure documents energy consumption per dollar product for both the United States and the state of Arkansas. Arkansas has consistently been less energy efficient that the nation as a whole, and has seen that gap widen slightly since the late 1980s. However, recent years show that Arkansas is moving towards greater energy efficiency. The United States, on the other hand, has seen fairly consistent improvement in energy efficiency since the 1970s.
